Appreciated Securities
By donating appreciated securities, you can save on capital gains taxes while helping a good cause.
You may choose to give appreciated stock to the Worcester Youth Center and avoid paying tax on the capital gain. To make a gift of appreciated stock, please transfer the stock to the Center. Our broker has been instructed to sell the stock immediately upon receipt. Donors will receive credit for the mean value of the stock on the day of the transfer.
To make a gift or payment using stock, please instruct your broker to transfer the stock to the following:

THE MENTOR SOCIETY
Join with others who make an Annual Appeal gift at the $250 level and above.
THE MENTOR SOCIETY
The Mentor Society is the Worcester Youth Center’s new giving society that recognizes annual gifts of $250 and above to the Center’s operating budget. Because the Center does not charge its participants a membership fee, all of its $600,000 budget must be raised from contributions and grants. Conducting the Annual Appeal is one way that the Board and volunteers raise money from the community to support programs.
Mentor Society Level Donors will:
- Be recognized as members on in a display in the Center’s lobby and on appropriate printed materials
- Be invited to an annual event to see firsthand how their contribution makes a difference to the Center, and
- Receive a biennial update from the Board Chair and Executive Director about the Center.
Volunteers
The Worcester Youth Center is in need of mentors and volunteers that can help during the busy operational hours of 3:00-6:00 pm. Please volunteer your time at the center by being a mentor to a young person.
